Understanding Pain

Why do you get pain

Pain does not come to trouble you but it comes to tell you that something is wrong with you and your way of life. It tells you that the injury you have inflicted on yourself could aggravate if you don’t take of yourself and your way of life. If you can take this message and correct yourself and your life style, the pain would be gone.

Pain Management

Thus pain is a very helpful message sent to you. So when you feel any pain, don’t start crying. Learn pain management techniques, such as:

Keep a pain journal
Think to identify what could have caused you the pain
Note the likely causes
Opt for multi disciplinary approach to relieve your pain, i.e.
change your diet
opt for releasing the stress
take to physical exercises and increase your flexibility
relaxation exercises
make behavior modification
get organized
go for more socialization
learn self hypnosis and bio feedback
distract yourself like seeing a movie, reading a book, watching TV etc.
Note down in your journal what gives you relief from pain
Keep track of the pain-relief cycle

Measurement of pain

There are ten levels of pain, Level 1 to 10 and they are measured as “dols”. Taking normal and not severe pains, the explanation could be

At level 1 you feel the pain of a minor scratch on your body
At level 2 there could be a small injury and little bleeding.
At level 3 you could feel some normal headache
At level 4 you could feel arthritis pain, the back ache, tooth ache etc.
At level 5 you could suffer from migraine, stomach ache
At level 6 the heart attack pain, cramps etc. could be placed
At level 7 burns can be put
At level 8 haemorrhages and tumors come
At level 9 passing of kidney stones could be felt
At level 10 labor and delivery pains come
