When you are undergoing treatment, especially for serious level three diseases like cancer, tuberculosis, tumor, etc. there are lots of things you can do to heal yourself. Because we are all gifted with lots of healing powers. But your healing powers will work for you only if your mind believes in them. Your mind should believe
That your father is God.
That you are the son or daughter of God.
God has healing powers
And no father worth the name would leave out his children without giving his own expertise
So you have definitely been endowed with self healing powers.
Let us now go through the various healing powers we are all bestowed with.
1. Faith and Hope
You need faith in your Heavenly Father and His healing powers present in yourself. Three faiths are crucial to recovery. They are
faith in God.
faith in the medical treatment and
faith in oneself
Faith is to believe what we do not see. Those who have faith, will get visible evidence of their invisible faith force. In addition, this faith is also very contagious and it would also catch the family members.
Empower yourself to take charge of your life. Motivate you to fight and persevere. If you want to live, you have got to be positive. Be confident that you are going to win this fight.
Your children need you. Your spouse needs you. So you need to do whatever to be with them. Not only they need you, you also need them so badly.
Be aware that healing does not come over night. It is a process. Therefore have more hope. Have a hopeful vision for yourself. You need hope during this period. Sometimes, seemingly endless series of treatments could tire you. Sometimes you might feel end of your hope.
Believe that end of your hope is not the end of your rope.
Even if you feel so, tie a knot at the end of the rope and hang on and start swinging.
Do all you need to do, to get well. Carry hope always for a better life. Human beings have remarkable ability to adapt and survive. Never think that your future life would centre around this disease only. As time passes, you would realise that you had withstood all the hardships and have well recovered .
How do you live your life
· Love life with a passion.
· Everyday morning feel grateful for whatever time you have.
· Learn to become a child who always live in present and do not worry either about the past or about the future.
· Take things one day at a time and stay focused on the day at hand.
· If you fast forward to the future, it could be frightening. You would feel secure in the present.
· Be thankful for what you have to day and not dwell on what is behind or what is ahead. And make the most of each day.
· Never get scared of your problem.
· Lots of people get into the same problem and still get over it.
· Believe nothing is impossible.
· Believe you are a strong person.
· Take a decision to stay in the world for a long time.
You are in charge of your family atmosphere
Don’t wallow in self pity and live in an irritated mood. Don’t be a walking time bomb ready to explode always. The attitude of the patient has a profound effect on the members of the family. Even their health could be affected. Thus your attitude to life can make a difference in the lives of your spouse and children.
Get reacquainted with your friends and relatives. Reclaim your joy and relationships. What you had so far been taking for granted, look at them again. Find how they are important to you. See your family members and friends more often. Learn the importance of giving yourself to others and receive much more in return than what you gave.
2. Pray
Re-learn how to pray. Pray, it is not a sign of weakness, it is an action of drawing strength from the supreme power. Pray alone and pray together with family. Flood the heaven with prayers. Learn to draw on God’s strength and love to get through this nightmare.
3. Positive thinking
Learn to cope with the disease. No amount of medication is going to help when you do not know how to put up with the problem and to get over the trauma. Accept your condition, learn the highs and lows of pain and tolerance and develop a state of mind which would take you beyond the pain. Doctors can only treat you, but you have to cure yourself. And once you understand this, the treatment is lot more easy and you would not feel miserable.
God has not created anything in this world, which is either totally positive or totally negative. Every thing in this world and every aspect or situation of our lives, has something positive and something negative. Similarly, your illness and the attendant confinement in bed has something positive also. That is, you have now lot of time at your disposal. Now you can make use of this time. Make use of this purposefully. Write about whatever you undergo so that it would be useful both to you and to other fellow sufferers. If you can write it well, you may even earn a good fortune by selling your writing.
4. Empower yourself
Meet people who have problems like you. Visit people in the hospital.. See the amputees in the wheel chairs and those suffering from more serious diseases. Learn from them that in comparison, your troubles are very insignificant.
Go through the books on your disease. Become more knowledgeable. Become an aware person.
Write daily letters. To your friends and relatives. Your letters could become a book. Or may be you can write your own book too. This creative therapy could help you more than anything else. Set out to create a more beautiful world and get so busy and forget to die. Pursue your heart felt dreams with more conviction.
Let the dark times enable you to help other people who are on similar journey. You can counsel patients and families. Eventually it may give you the opportunity for loving and serving people. Therefore take time to visit other patients and share your experiences and get the same into the hands of those who are starting on this. Share your experiences rather than memories.
5. Laugh and have fun
Don’t take things seriously. Life is there to enjoy. Therefore have fun with it. Observe children who might perhaps be also taking treatments along with you. Learn from them how do they live. They are still playing and laughing..
Laugh. Laugh in plenty. Laughter has a curative effect on our body, the mind and emotions. Indulge in it as often as you can. Use whatever makes you laugh, may be movies, records, books, cartoons, jokes, friends, anything. Give yourself permission to laugh, long and loud. Hold daily parties. Laugh and make others laugh and forget the pain. Laughter would help you get well and where you have already become well, laughter will help you remain that way.
Though there is not much fun in medicine,
there is lot of medicine in fun.
Ten minutes of genuine belly laughter has so much of anaesthetic effect that would give at least give two hours of pain free existence and sleep. This humour is called therapeutic humour. Be aware that
Seven days without laughter makes one weak.
Therefore laugh and forget your problems and simply enjoy the fun. Be aware that optimism and humour are your care takers..
Ultimately he who laughs lasts.
Feel being in paradise. Your doctor would tell you your diseases have vanished. This is the art of self healing. Be aware that
Illness is caused by negativity
and
Wellness is caused by positivity.
6. Meditate and visualise
Use imagery techniques to help overcome your fears and anxieties. Imagine a game going on within yourself. Imagine every time you laugh, or take a medicine, or write a positive letter, or help some one, one piece of dead cell is removed from you and destroyed.
You can visualise birds going within you and picking from their beaks your diseased cells. You can visualise a white light, the universal energy coming from above and entering within you through the top of your head, flowing through your body and healing you.
Continue meditating each morning this way and you would find tremendous peace and exciting results. Tell your body how to behave. Your mind has powers to turn the immune systems around.
Imagery, meditation and visualization are mind games. They have tremendous effect. Engage in such mind games.
7. Other self healing powers
Your problems are a wake up call for smelling roses and enjoying life. Take positive steps to enjoy the little things.
· Begin each day with the realisation that that is the best day of your life. Think of your accomplishments so far, the many blessings you have and even the hardships that have made you stronger. Go through the day holding your head high and heart happy. Marvel at God’s simple gifts, the sun rise, the morning dew, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds and make sure that none of these miraculous creations escape your notice. Share your excitements with other people.
· Learn compassion. Make other people smile. Go out of your way to do unexpected acts of kindness to others whom you even don’t know.
· Give compliments to people for whatever they do or for whatever they are. Tell a child how special he is and tell someone you love just how deeply you care for him or her and how much she or he means to you.
· Quit worrying about what you don’t have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things that God has already given you. Have an inner sense of peace.
· Kids and pets would help you forget your problems. Feed the birds and cats.
· Reading books would be very positive action during the period.
· Touch and smell flowers. Plant plants.
· Help children with homework. Teach other people.
· Take off your shoes, walk on water. Enjoy the nature when the cool clear water passes over your feet. There is something therapeutic about the ocean also. The waves, your walking on the sands, watching the tide and experiencing the nature all have a good healing energy. When you feel more connected to nature the nature sends you the healing force. God’s plans are very simple, but it is we who complicate living on this earth.
· Before going to bed at night, go outside and raise your eyes to the heavens and stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon and praise God for these magnificient treasures. As you lay your head on your pillow, thank the Almighty for the best day of your life and sleep the sleep of a contented child excited with the expectation that tomorrow is going to be the best day of your life ever.
· Get up in the morning and serve the others with morning tea and make people happy. Join people and catch up with everyone’s life. Consider each day as another day of life, a gift from God to be enjoyed as fully as possible.
· Go to the games where children are playing and enjoy watching them.
· Take time for doing house work.
· Believe in God’s divine plan and have faith that His plan ensures that everything would be fine in the end.
Keep searching for small joys in life. Maintain your good spirits. Each day is a gift and live it to the full extent. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, the tragedy is we wait so long to begin it.
If you follow all the above channels of healing, you would feel better. They would help you lead a good life. Your observing the above means you have decided to restart your life. If you restart to live, you would be permitted to live again. This second chance also would more particularly come to you as an answer to your prayers. Your new found courage would lead you to do things that you would never have done before Thus if you do all the things you need to do before you die, you would not die. At this stage, you would realise your disease gave you a new life and you are grateful it had helped you with a new direction and fulfillment of your dreams.
Ultimately you would realise that diseases do not end any one’s life but are meant to actually save his life !
Wish you Good Luck !
